Paul knew what the trials were doing in him and what was awaiting him when he left this world. This kind of anticipation applies the weight of glory. Weight has everything to do with gravity. Gravity attracts objects together. The greater the mass of an object, the stronger the force of gravity. The smaller the mass, the lesser its gravitational pull.

The moon is smaller than the earth, so on the earth things weigh more, and on the moon they weigh less. A hundred-pound weight here would only weigh about sixteen pounds on the moon, which has one-sixth gravity.36 When you are standing on the promises of God and not on your circumstances as they presently appear, the mass of your trial gets smaller, and the power of its pull gets weaker. By applying the weight of glory, you put it in perspective.37
